Comfort Zion

“Comfort, comfort my people, says your God.” - Isaiah 40:1

The need in Israel is great, there are many lonely Holocaust survivors, bedridden pensioners, poor new immigrants, students, disabled, terror victims, and people suddenly hit with sickness and misfortune. We see this as an opportunity for us Christians to step in and fulfill our Biblical responsibility to care for God’s people, as Ruth professed, “your people will be my people and your God my God.”

Ten Gentiles comforts God’s people in tangible ways. We coordinate with Social Services, charity organizations, and local synagogues to serve the needy directly through regular home visits, providing food vouchers for groceries, and giving holiday gifts. We bring comfort and friendship to the needy without ulterior motive, wanting nothing in return. The Jewish recipients are amazed to see the generosity of Christians from all over the world. And the Christian visitors are always overwhelmed by the hospitality from the families and moved by their strength and joy amidst hardship.

We also volunteer regularly alongside local volunteers in Israeli charity organizations such as elderly activity centers, nursing homes, and food pantries. We do whatever is needed whether it is packing food, cleaning, serving lunch, or chopping veggies. We make friends; we are adopted into families.

Already coming on a tour? Why not spend half of a day with us serving the people and the Israeli society? You will be blessed with the deep satisfaction of comforting and connecting with Israel.
